Our OHAUS Guardian 5000 hotplate stirrer kit promotion brings the instrument, temperature probe and probe holder together. From 1 October to 18 December 2026, selected Guardian 5000 kits are available through Yorlab for the price of the corresponding unit alone, plus an extra 32% off.

What does the OHAUS Guardian 5000 Hotplate Stirrer offer include?
Each eligible kit contains:
- A next generation OHAUS Guardian 5000 hotplate or hotplate stirrer.
- A 20 cm stainless steel temperature probe — accessory code 30500590.
- A probe holder kit — accessory code 30973298.
Including the temperature probe and probe holder gives you the accessories needed to position the probe in your sample, rather than purchasing these components separately.
The offer applies to the four specified kit codes, so choose the bundle listing when ordering rather than adding the standalone instrument and accessories individually.
Why include a temperature probe?
The temperature of a hotplate surface is not necessarily the temperature of the liquid in your vessel. Sample volume, vessel material, stirring and heat loss can all affect how quickly the contents warm up.
An external probe measures temperature within the sample and provides feedback to the instrument for sample-based temperature control. This is useful when your method depends on reaching and maintaining a particular liquid temperature rather than simply setting the plate temperature.
The holder supports consistent probe positioning. When setting up, check the recommended immersion depth and keep the probe clear of the vessel base and any rotating stir bar.

7 × 7 in hotplate kit — 30532080
The e-G52HP07C provides heating without magnetic stirring. Consider this configuration if your method requires a heated surface but does not need the instrument to mix the sample.
It includes the same temperature probe and holder as the other promotional bundles.
7 × 7 in heating and stirring kit — 30532109
The e-G52HS07C combines heating and magnetic stirring on a square plate. It is an option to consider for workflows that need both functions, such as preparing solutions or dissolving reagents.
Check that the plate dimensions and instrument specifications suit your usual vessels and working volumes.
10 × 10 in heating and stirring kit — 30910735
The e-G52HS10C offers the largest plate in the promotion. Its wider surface is worth considering when vessel footprint is an important part of your equipment choice.
Plate size alone does not determine suitability: also check the permitted load, stirring capacity and temperature requirements for your application.
5.3 in round heating and stirring kit — 30981784
The e-G52HSRDA provides heating and stirring with a round, ceramic-coated aluminium plate. Compare its plate shape and dimensions with the square models to decide which best accommodates your vessels.
Features that support everyday laboratory work
The next generation Guardian 5000 range combines practical controls with safety features, including SafetyHeat™ and SmartHeat™. SmartRate™ provides adjustable heating behaviour and, on models with stirring, adjustable stirring behaviour.
A bright LCD helps users read operating settings, while RS232 connectivity supports remote control or data logging. Check the individual model specifications when assessing which features your method requires.
